Why isn’t my drowned farm giving tridents?
Are you sure you’re the one killing most of them? If they can see you and the trident one tries to hit you and hits another instead, the other zombies might kill it. Or if they’re in tight quarters entity cramming could be killing them. In either case, they wouldn’t drop the trident.

Nope, definitely isn’t. OP mentioned playing Java edition, where tridents are not a rare drop, but only an equipment drop. In other words, if you don’t see it, you won’t get it. And zombie conversion retains all held/equipped items, so converted drowned never hold (and therefore drop) a trident, ever.
